I just started reading "Wild at Heart" by John Eldredge in an effort to better love and understand my boyfriend. He is reading "Captivating" by Stasi Eldredge and John Eldredge. The "female" version of Wild at Heart. Both books aim to tackle what is the question in a man or woman's heart that they are constantly trying to get answered, what does a man or woman's heart long for. And how God relates to and created these things.
I will be sharing some of the top points I've learned from Wild at Heart here:
I will be sharing some of the top points I've learned from Wild at Heart here:
- God created nature and called it good. The most important thing to realize is...God created grizzly bears and rattle snakes and dangerous animals..and called them good. There is risk, danger, wildness in the heart of God and in the heart of every man
- But at the same time, God created everything in nature we find romantic and beautiful. He created sunsets and sunrises. Beaches and summer breezes. Everything that makes honeymoons and romantic nights. God's heart has wildness but he's also a romantic.
- Jesus was kind and helpful and selfless, but when fighting the battle against sin and satan, he was an untouchable bad ass. He flipped tables, killed, and flat out bad mouthed those you were under satans rule and were spreading sin in his world. God's heart has a angry side. Not at us, but at satan and the sin he brings. God used plagues and wars to win against satan.
